Mission Statement
Spotted Dog Dalmatian Rescue is a unique rescue, dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of deaf purebred Dalmatians. We believe in the control the animal population by spaying and neutering deaf Dalmatians before they are placed in “forever” homes. We are committed to placing deaf Dalmatians in permanent homes, where they will receive good, loving and humane treatment.
The myths regarding deaf dogs, are just that... MYTHS. One of our goals is to educate Dalmatian breeders that just because a puppy is born deaf does not mean they need to euthanize that puppy. Many deaf dogs have excelled in the companion performance events of Obedience, Rally, and Agility. A deaf puppy or dog can and do make wonderful family members.
Another of goals is to provide the public with education material and presentations about the breed and its needs. We also assist owners in understanding their deaf Dalmatian and hope with proper training, there will never be a need to give their Dalmatian up.

About Spotted Dog Dalmatian Rescue
Spotted Dog Dalmatian Rescue is a group of volunteers that are committed, and devote our time to saving as many deaf Dalmatian as we can. We do not run a shelter and all of our dogs are placed in foster homes, located in OH, MD, PA, TN, TX, and VA. Fostering is one of the best ways to get involved in rescue. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster home, please select the foster application link above.
We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, EIN# 45-2701164, and all donations are tax deductable. We participate in Adopt-a-thons throughout the area and take advantage of adoption days at local pet stores. We also participate in "doggie" events such as Woofstock.
We actively support a Therapy and Humane Education Program throughout the area. We have a volunteer base for training and behavioral problems, to counsel individuals that need help with their deaf Dalmatians so they don't end up in shelters. We believe that proper training, education, and activity makes for a great Dalmatian home.
Spotted Dog Dalmatian Rescue will take owner surrenders on a case by case basis. We highly suggest that you reconsider giving up your deaf Dalmatian. Turning your deaf Dalmatian into the shelter, will ultimately lead to certain death, If you must give up your dog and would like our help in finding placement, he/she MUST be altered, up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, and on preventative medication. We do require that you send pictures of the deaf Dalmatian and submit an owner surrender form which we will provide.
